Session Overview: Baker Tilly will provide the attendee an overview of how data analytics can be practically applied to the accounting and finance department’s daily or monthly responsibilities. We will look at real use cases developed recently to show how analytics can be deployed to look at product and customer margins, manufacturing variances, changes in material costs, and more. As part of this discussion, there will be a live demo of an analytical tools to show the interactivity and drilldown capabilities many finance professionals seek, as well as the process to build out visualizations. All examples discussed will be specifically geared towards management accountants who are blending financial and operational information every day.

Rob Bellile, CMA, CPA
Rob is a Manager based in Wisconsin on Baker Tilly’s Supply Chain & Manufacturing consulting practice. Rob assists clients with complex financial or operational issues by developing data driven solutions – leveraging information from across the organization. During his 4 years with Baker Tilly, he has worked with companies from $10M to $20B+ in revenue to scale the appropriate solution to the client’s need. Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Rob worked as a financial analyst across several manufacturing facilities for a Fortune 500 food & beverage company. Rob is a graduate of UW Oshkosh, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance.
Chris Peterson, CPA
Chris is a Manager based in Madison, Wisconsin in Baker Tilly’s assurance practice specializing in manufacturing and distribution clients. Chris is involved in the annual audit and review process, in the firms adoption and usage of data visualizations in the audit, as well as assisting on different costing and consulting projects. During his 6 years with Baker Tilly, he has worked with companies ranging from $10M to $1B+ in revenue. Chris is a graduate of UW Madison, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, risk management & insurance, and management.
