Topic: Leadership – Take ownership of your responsibilities.

Summary: Leaders can succeed or fail for all kinds of reasons.  In many cases leaders learn to lead by previous experiences and may not necessarily know why things work or don’t work.  What are some of the fundamentals that help explain why we succeed or fail?  We will discuss 10 fundamental topics that can help provide structure to give leaders the confidence that they are doing their best to succeed.  For future leaders these topics can give them the foundation to develop these skills to succeed and grow.

Speaker: Dennis A. Leigh, CPA

Bio: Dennis has been a registered CPA in the state of Illinois for 25 years.  Dennis graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems.  Dennis has worked in the insurance industry for 30 years for companies with between $500m to 1 billion in revenue.  Dennis spent 9 years as a controller of two property casualty reinsurance companies, then became the controller of a third party administrator, servicing self-insured employee benefit plans for medium and large employers and is currently working for Network Heath Inc. as a VP of Finance.  Dennis has specialized in leading small accounting teams in developing best practices in the processing of financial transactions, establishing internal controls, running various types of financial audits and staff development.  Dennis is a registered tax preparer and has been providing individual and corporate income tax preparation services as well as Form 5500 services for over 30 years.
